Having been a youg man in the 80's 90's, but not exactly an old man now (not yet 40), I would say that while its easy to say this is true, people easily forget how bad popular music can be over time......as they only remember the good things.
Comparing what a fool believes by the doobie brothers or you wanna be starting something by Michael Jackson in lyrical quality with Taylor Swift or the latest rianna dance song isn't comparing apples and apples. Why not compare "do the hustle" or some other disco abortion with the Lumineers or an up and coming artist Anderson Paak and that lyricism.
Few people give credit to the present.
That Lauren Hill letter is 3 years old......still no music. I agree with her summation, but......nobody forces you to sign the contract. And still......no music.

my name is christian and my wife is katja, and we have been out of the organization for a year and a half.

we were both regular pioneers and i was a ministerial servant.

we were very much happy to be witnesses and doing our best to do more for the organization.

Hi guys and welcome. Great place to meet new ones leaving or to help those cope with what they are about to face.
My wife and I were pioneers and I was an MS as well. We served where the need was great in another country. Had 18 bible studies myself! thank goodness I didn't see any of them baptized, although I fear some have when I left.
I woke up before my wife. We had a rough go of it. We were in our mid 30's.....still though, we are grateful to not have to raise our children in it.
Congrats on getting out. Did you lose family to do so?

2016 Memorial Done & Dusted

well on this side of the planet, the southern hemisphere/ new zealand, the 2016 memorial service in local kingdom halls will be over for another year.

another great big anticlimax.

some family and relatives will have gone - but unless i ask my sister, i generally have no idea about attendance and partaker numbers.

Here in Cali its kicking off. the wife is headed out....guilted by family. She will be late, the kids will be a tear, and it will suck.

Sophie must really be raking in that allowance money. I'm sure this is a subtle que for the parents really. Get the kids to ASK if they can be like Sophia and put some money in the box. Hey wait......kids don't have money!

Always nice to hear the judicial committees. Although it was a bit mind numbing hearing really horrible arguments for and against the trinity doctrine for so long. He handled himself calmly, and the elders were kind enough, but clearly just slowly wrapping up the box without really listening.
